Engine 2 Approved Food List

This list is from the Engine 2 Diet website and used with their permission.

*These items can be found at places like Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and most health food places... except for the Kabuli crust, I guess you have to get that online from some place in Texas. Which makes sense seeing that the author of the E2 book is based out of Texas...

  1. Nutritional yeast should really be included on this list. B vitamins are kind of important. It should also include kelp since it excludes salt. Iodine is very important for thyroid function. The cooking oil substitute I'm taking that as they're saying use a misto? Because the commercial sprays are full of crap and if you're going for a clean eating routine. I kind of want to do my own challenge now, wheat free of course ;) Maybe when I'm done with this miserable crap semester. Proud of you Ryan :)

  2. You're absolutely right! Nutritional Yeast is in many of the recipes, but not on the list. I'll add it as well as the kelp, good call.

The E2 writer recommends using a misto if you can find one. I will buy one, but I have a can of the spray to finish first.

Thanks for the support. Let me know when you start your own challenge.

  3. I'm seriously in love with my misto. I actually have 2 now, I got another one for Christmas. I keep balsamic in one, and olive oil in the other - instant spray on salad dressing :) Also good for roasting beets. I made balsamic beets yesterday.

Will do! I think when I'm done with this semester that is murdering me in my soul I'll be able to organize myself a little :) Right now forget it, I'm totally useless - unless you want me to convert any number of an atomic element into it's number of mols.

    4. Wow! So Sorry for the delay. I didn't see this until today.

Spray oil is "okay" in a small, one push of the button use. Not to be used to spray all around the can.

  6. What ingredients are you looking for in crackers? I shop at a Kroger based store, and they have some simple truth crackers that have 0 sugar and the ingredients are: Brown rice flour, potato starch, safflower oil, sorghum flour, quinoa seeds, sesame seeds, millet, flax seeds amaranth seeds and sea salt. Are these ok to eat?

    1. Hi! Sorry for the extreme delay. I just saw the notification for this post.

I would lean more toward the less processed crackers like the Wasa crackers, but I think the Simple Truth crackers would be okay.
